Southern States Refinishing is a local, family-owned business serving North Georgia since 1980. John Dykes started his career helping his mom run Southern States Cleaning, where he learned to refinish and repair bathtubs. A few years later he launched his own company, and the name "Southern States Refinishing" was born.
Over time, customers began asking about decorative concrete, so John and his team learned everything there is to know about epoxy coatings, polished concrete, acid stains, garage floor coatings, and overlays. After practicing on their own driveway, basement, and garage, they were ready to bring those skills to the community.
Today, John, his daughter Arica, and his son-in-law Connor serve homeowners and commercial facilities across North Georgia, from small bathroom refinishing jobs to large-scale commercial floors at places like Anytime Fitness in Dawsonville and a Fire Station in Gwinnett County.
